There has been an amazing turn of events in the Morris Household this week:
We have had a few rare "miracles" happen in the last week.
1. Scott can now go to work riding the carpool (the van driver lives in our neighborhood) so NO MORE PAYING FOR GAS!!!!! This is one thing we have been struggling with is his gas bill. He gets great gas mileage in his little car, but driving everyday (sometimes 6 days a week) can really add up.
2. Scott's work shift will now be 6am to 3:30pm. So he can wake up at 5:15am instead of 3am! This is something we've also struggled with, because he's so drained by the time I get to see him. This is going to allow me to see my husband ina good mood with enough energy to be the fun and loving person I know he is.
3. My boss basically gave me an offer I just couldn't pass up today. I'm still going to be leaving, however not as soon as I was orginally planning. She needs me to stay until November and this will allow me to "phase myself out" slowly while still being able to leave the company. She basically offered me way more money, she's paying for my cell phone and daycare and I have HUGE bonuses on the things I do. It was just too good of a deal...I'm willing to give her 110% for the next 4 months.
4. Because I'm still going to be working now, I needed to find a new daycare provider....well there happens to be an amazing mom in my neighborhood that is literally 3 minutes from my house that has an opening! She's even cheaper than what my boss is going to pay me for daycare....so I'm banking money every month by taking Carter here. And the thought that he's so close to me and our home is the BEST!!!!!
So, things are really starting to turn around for us. Although I was so excited to quit and be a stay at home mom, I'll be able to put so much into savings that it's going to make it that much better for us when I actually do quit!

That's so great when everything just falls right into place. It looks like you are in a great place right now. I am also so excited to hear that there may be another family member soon...I always thought that you guys only wanted one child? Carter is going to be a great big brother some day.
I am sorry that I wasn't able to get back to you a few days ago. I have been battering a head cold and wasn't up for a play date. But Jackie & I would love to hang out...We should go to the splash pad, it sounds so fun for the kids.
Wow Christie!! I'd say you've had quite a few new developments since last time I talked to you! I don't think I would pass up that offer from your boss either! YOU definitely are worth the new "upgrades." And I am even more happy that you were able to find another daycare provider that you actually like this time. AWESOME!!
Wow that is amazing! I'm so happy that everything worked out for the best!
Well written article.
